August of 2000 - I completed a recording of the very demanding Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto transcribed for the electric guitar.  The project began some years ago during college as I started transcribing excerpts from it to impress my other guitar friends.  "Where did you learn that lick!??" was always a fun response to some of the colorfully contorted riffs that I would show them.  Eventually, the cat was out of the bag and my roommate at college convinced me to transcribe the whole first movement.  After working on the piece together (he's a pianist), I knew I'd have to finish the whole piece.  The remaining two movements, however, weren't finished until a few years later.

This piece was an absolute bear to record.  At the time, it was the most challenging piece I've ever learned and if I were a little smarter, I would have picked something a tad easier to begin with.  Nonetheless, it's a goal that I'm glad to have accomplished and to be done with...and I'm indeed proud of the recording.  This version of the concerto was recorded with a synthesizer orchestra.  For those connoisseurs who know about this, I didn't make any of the usual cuts in the 3rd movement!
